OK, it’s not the best acting, but who cares? You don’t go into a film like this expecting an Oscar-worthy performance.
It’s a very funny and bloody film festival
Yes, the plot has a thousand holes, yes, you can see where it’s going, and it’s often predictable. I rated this film 5 stars, but I’d like to give it a solid 8, but I can’t – it was released too late.
Still, kudos to the creators for sticking mostly to the old colors and effects and very little CGI (which was pretty bad)
If it had been released in the 80s, it would have been a true classic here, because older films can be forgiven for having rather complicated sound effects. That’s to be expected, but in today’s film world, you can’t just hold a spear close to your hand and look like it’s stuck in your stomach.
Pretend it’s an old movie and you’ll like it
It’s a movie that’s very watchable, you can laugh at it, cross your fingers and just go with it. Go into it expecting a masterclass by today’s standards and you’ll be sorely disappointed.
