If Winter financial aid grants are released by December 31st the amount will be reported in Box 5. When will my form be available?
For reporting purposes, California State University, San Bernardino is required to have the student’s Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). The IRS Form 1098-T (Tuition Statement) is an information form filed with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to report amounts paid for Qualified Tuition and Related Expenses (QTRE), as well as other related information. The Social Security Number/ITIN and address on your Form 1098-T was obtained from information provided to CSU Fullerton. The single most important information on the form is your Social Security Number/ITIN. Without your SSN/ITIN, the university cannot properly report an information return with the IRS.

A college or university that received qualified tuition and related expenses on your behalf is required to file Form 1098-T with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The information being reported to the IRS verifies your enrollment with regard to certain eligibility criteria for the Hope Tax Credit, the Lifetime Learning Tax Credit, and the Higher Education Tuition and Fees Deduction. However, the enrollment information by itself does not establish eligibility for either credit or deduction. You are not required to attach IRS Form 1098-T to your tax return.

The original GI Bill, officially known as the Servicemen’s Readjustment Act, was passed in 1944, despite it being highly controversial. At the time, few people outside the rich or academically gifted went to college, and members of Congress wondered if veterans would fit in.
By not giving your consent, your 2022 Form 1098-T will be mailed to your address on file in your Student Homepage. Students will be receiving additional information regarding accessing their 2022 Form 1098-T around January 31st, https://turbo-tax.org/ 2022. Insurers file this form for each individual to whom they made reimbursements or refunds of qualified tuition and related expenses.
